When we began the process of financing our first home purchase, the team at UMAX was very helpful, laying out all the steps necessary and potential pitfalls along the way. After shopping around a bit, it turned out UMAX was offering us the best rate. Through the whole process of getting the mortgage approved, they were helpful and supportive. When we hit a bump in our application process a few days before Christmas, they made sure we were able to reorient and still buy the home we had our hearts on, without losing time and having to push our closing. After we bought our house, they stayed in touch, and have kept us apprised of opportunities to improve our rate. All in all, the UMAX team made a very complicated and nerve-wracking process relatively simple.

The UMAX team helped us get into our home in San Francisco in 2004, and with each subsequent refinance (starting 3 months later to the most recent in September 2015), have continually improved the quality of the financial product that is our mortgage – and it was phenomenal to begin with in comparison to other products on the market.  We comparison shopped with large banks for each refinance, and the answer was always the same: they couldn’t beat the terms Scott was able to get us.

They were also always willing to take the time to answer questions personally – and on a wide range of financial topics.  They are fantastic broker, and we highly recommend them.

We had a difficult transaction that was going nowhere for literally 6months.  But, the moment our offer was accepted, Our loan officer kicked it into high gear and had everything squared away in no time at all.  They were organized, accurate, and explained everything. We’ve used UMAX for all of our refi needs over the past 8 years. They are very thorough and always on the lookout for a lower rate for us. Over the past two years they have helped us lower our rate significantly, generating incredible savings.

The people at UMAX Mortgage recently completed our complex mortgage. They were always pleasant and effective. Even when they hit a snag (an unexpected lien by a previous owner, now deceased and without a will), they took care of everything calmly and professionally with minimum involvement of my wife and me. Their time estimates were quite accurate and everything was done much as they predicted.

The distance between their Northern California location and ours in Southern California was never an issue. We were able to handle some of the document transmission by email (attachments) and the remainder by U.S. mail and FedEx.
